A principled man.

Sure, he may be a little bit of a kook. Sure, he's waaaaaay left of the political spectrum. Sure, he not so secretly shares some of Chris's views. But hey, nobody else has the balls to state what they truly feel in public. Four plus hours a smidge over a week ago in an otherwise quiet House chamber into the wee hours of the morning giving 35 articles of impeachment. Apologies for not posting this sooner.

You go, Dennis. Fight the good fight.

Fare thee well, Dennis.

It was more than a sharing of hometowns.
It was more than a sharing of drastically liberal thinking.
It was more than a sharing of uphill underdog fights.
It was all this and the sharing of views and ideas that brought us together. Remember this Find Your Candidate post? Good times....

But for now Dennis Kucinich, your presidential ship has sailed. Godspeed, honorable Congressman. Safe journeys back to Cleveland, OH.

Who's missing?

Dennis is, that's who. In last night's Nevada debate, Big Wigs in the television industry did not want Representative Kucinich to appear espousing views that do not align with, and frankly may startle, the more "mainstream" candidates. Sad really. I realize that Kucinich has no hope in winning; but in a debate of candidates, and the record will reflect that Dennis is indeed still a candidate, one would think that ALL views would be welcomed. Not so. “When ‘big media’ exert their unbridled control over what Americans can see, hear, and read, then the Constitutional power and right of the citizens to vote is being vetoed by multi-billion corporations that want the votes to go their way,” the Kucinich campaign said.

Sigh.

At least with all the schmoozing and making-up that Kimberly's boyfriend Barack and Hillary were doing over the recent race snafu, it was an opportunity for Chris's boyfriend John to seize the opening and make a firm statement or three versus his rivals on Iraq, nuclear plants, and receiving big money from Big Pharma and insurance. “Do you think these people expect something, or are they just interested in good government?” ZING!

Slowly coming around to the fact that maybe Edwards has as much of a chance as Kucinich does to win this nomination, but I'm glad he's sticking with it "all the way through to the convention."

Washington Post's "Choose Your Candidate" quiz

Another 2008 election quizzy nugget:
Choose Your Candidate

I guess the House of Gordon "kinda" scooped The Post with the quiz we posted here on November 20, but this new one is much more involved. Sadly however, Chris's boy Dennis isn't included:

washingtonpost.com submitted a series of issue questions to each of the principal Democratic and Republican presidential candidates. Republican candidates Rudy Giuliani and Fred Thompson chose not to reply to all of the questions. But since Thompson and Giuliani are both polling in the top tier of GOP candidates, we included issue stances for them based on the candidates' public statements, speeches and information on their campaign Web sites. We did not choose to research and prepare responses for a short list of second-tier candidates who also did not respond: Democrats Joe Biden, Mike Gravel, and Dennis Kucinich, and Republicans Alan Keyes and Tom Tancredo. We have invited the candidates who have not yet responded to join the quiz at any time by answering our issue questions.

Stay strong, Dennis. Stay strong. Fight the good fight.

Find your candidate for 2008.

Have a little fun with this website:
http://www.wqad.com/Global/link.asp?L=259460

It's an interesting "quiz" to take to see where your views line up with the presidential candidates. Some intriguing nonscientific results (to say the least) have been discovered within The House of Gordon:

  • Kimberly, a dues-paying member of Friends of Obama, aligned mostly with John Edwards.

  • Chris, a solid Edwards boy, aligned mostly with,....wait for it...., Dennis Kucinich. GASP! (To quote Kimberly: "Who knew I was married to SUCH a left-wing liberal?")

  • Sam and Maxie, being dogs, are in fact not registered to vote and therefore did not take part in this little assignment.

What are your results? Whatever they are, just VOTE when it comes time for the real thing.
