We're booked!

We may not have a place to rest our weary heads yet, but at least we have travel arrangements to get there! Where's this destination, you ask? Why, it's Belgium and Germany!!!

For a "mere" 50,000 banked Northwest Airlines miles apiece, we paid a grand total of $109.34 per ticket in taxes and fees. This is our big to-do for our anniversary. It was originally planned for the big Year Ten, but schooling and whatnot interfered, so Year Thirteen it shall be. (When have you ever known us to do anything "by the book"?) We are so excited!!!

It'll be our first experience with "overnight travel". We'll be leaving Greensboro at 2:10pm on a Sunday, and arriving in Brussels at 9:25am on Monday. Yikes! I hope people seated around us bring earplugs to combat some wicked Gordonian snoring!

4 nights in Brussels: Belgian chocolates, Belgian beer, mussels, the seat of the European Union.

Then it's on to Germany for 6 nights of castles, the Alps, Reisling, sausages, and of course, opening weekend of Oktoberfest!
It's still 6 months away and it cannot get here quickly enough.
