Friday in Winston-Salem

Friday night we drove over to Winston-Salem for a "Fridays with Obama" event: a fundraiser at the new Hutch & Harris Pub on 4th Street. $10 per person for a seafood buffet that was really good, live music, lively discussion, and some more money entering the Obama coffers. H & H is owned by a Marylander who loves his crab. Crabcakes, she-crab soup, all the goodies from the mid-atlantic. The owner closed up the restaurant from 6p-9p just for us Obama folks. The wait staff donated their time. It was really a neat experience. We'll have to hit this place up for an outright dinner one night on our own, because the ambience and the food were quite inviting. (For the beer nerd: 5 taps, all good. Foothills occupying two of them.)

Afterward, the buffet really didn't completely quell our hunger, so we walked the two blocks down 4th Street to Foothills Brewing for some late night grub and of course, some Sexual Chocolate. YUM!!!! Sadly, no higher gravity brews can be poured into the personal Gordon Foothills Mug #17. So just a smaller 10-ounce portion will have to suffice.
